Lot 4 Linda Olson Minot, North Dakota Little Linden Leaves, 2024 Stoneware 9 x 14 x 14 inches $550 – 650 Linda Olson teaches studio arts as a full professor at Minot State University, beginning in 1990, and is chair of the Division of Art and Professional Communication. Having been required to wear many hats during her lifetime, Olson enjoys working with several art forms; ceramics being her medium of choice. Since 1988, Olson has been researching and documenting Native American rock art sites in the United States. Her art and ceramics take inspiration from this practice, utilizing earthen colors, sand, and rock. For this work, leaves have been imprinted around the vessel, leaving a space where the natural element would have been prior to firing. The juxtaposition of the lightened areas to the rest of the vessel is reminiscent of figures one might find upon rocks across the west.
