Lot 5 Christine Kirouac Winnipeg, Manitoba Cottonwood, 2026 Colored pencil on paper 20 x 16 inches $500 – 600 Christine Kirouac is a Winnipeg-based Métis artist and writer whose interdisciplinary projects are a negotiation between (dis)placement and (non)acceptance. Through her provocative artwork, she combines humor, fearlessness and personal intimacy to expose the struggles of translating and transcribing “belonging.” In her alluring, absurd, and open-ended artwork Kirouac prefers a trail of impressions and questions to linger. Her quest has evolved across various forms, but her commitment to drawing has become an act of preserving not only memories of place but also of herself. Her drawings house her experiences.
