Her works are centered on our natural world and human relationships to it, and have been exhibited around the country and internationally. Weaving strips of her prints together imbues the artwork with mysteries transmitted by the combination of the meanings from the completed work, along with those of the printed images embedded within the strips. Allen lives and works on the moraine near Itasca State Park, on the traditional lands of the Anishinabewaki, Bdewakantuwan, and Očhéthi Šakówin people.
